SCMagazine has named Morgan Marquis-Boire on its honorable mention list of Influential IT security minds in 2012. Marquis-Boire is a security researcher and Technical Advisor at the Citizen Lab and works as a Security Engineer at Google specializing in Incident Response, Forensics and Malware Analysis. Recently, he has been working with the Electronic Frontier Foundation on issues surrounding dissident suppression in Syria.
At the Citizen Lab, Marquis-Boire has published numerous reports, including Backdoors are Forever: Hacking Team and the Targeting of Dissent?, The SmartPhone Who Loved Me: FinFisher Goes Mobile?, From Bahrain With Love: FinFisher’s Spy Kit Exposed?, Syrian Activists Targeted with BlackShades Spy Software, Iranian anti-censorship software ‘Simurgh’ circulated with malicious backdoor.
